Issue: Globally millions of people suffer through poverty and this means lacking money. Their daily lives are in danger; they fight for whatever they can in order to get a little bit of food or money to survive. One of these countries is India.
Significances:
A huge sector of the world suffers through poverty. In almost every country we see people begging for money to eat and raise their children. Unemployment in many countries can lead to this and possibly into a break of the economy. It plays a huge role globally because many people suffer. Many events, and ‘fun’-raisers are done to help these people, there are organization which gather up clothes, money and food to keep these people alive.
Analysis:
This video clip is quite useful. It is a little biased as it doesn’t show the positive side of India. But all around people face poverty and these images show what some of these people go through and it is a bad feeling to see such things and struggles. We can discuss poverty and how it can be fought or helped, and in what ways.

Sex Trafficking

Issue: In Ukraine many women are tricked and forced into prostitution. This short clip shows 2 women that went through sex trafficking and how they were hurt and need to recover.
Significances:
Sex trafficking is a huge business worldwide. It is almost greater than drug smuggling as a business. Lots of young women are tricked or forced into being sex slaves and are taken away from their countries by Pimps who drug them and force them to use their bodies to satisfy men. Everywhere in the world women’s lives are destroyed from this as it will stay in them forever, many women struggle and die from AIDS or other sicknesses, and need mental treatment for what they experience, it is a huge worldwide issue.
Analysis:
This source seems to be very reliable because it is part of a real documentary, shows scenes and interviews of the sex trafficked women. We can discuss this as an issue and see how many women are forced into prostitution from different world sectors. This article is very useful because you can gain a good image of the current situation of women that go through this.
