Factory Farming

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpbtBgLfl90  Quite Interesting!

Issue: Factory Farming (Chicken)

Significances:

Worldwide, factory farming is now taking place, many factories are selectively breeding chicken to grow faster than their limits in order to face their ‘priorities’ towards fast food life. Withing fast food life there must be fast growth/development. Many chickens die daily, and disease can be spread very easily (bird flu for example) this will make more people ill quicker, and many chickens suffer before their slaughtering day. It breaks the daily normal life of a growing chicken.

Analysis:

We can discuss the processes in which these animals go through in order to be bread, and how they suffer, comparing them to ‘organically’ grown chicken. This video seems reliable as it shows what happens in factory farms. Maybe the more brutal scenes don’t happen everywhere and they were selected for this video so it can strike out, but most of the facts seem true. It is very useful.

“They are forced to grow into their slaughtering day, within a 40 day limit”
