Child Labour (2)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruh0O_mj1v0

Issue: A document based on 3 African children that work in mines. They spend 12 hours to gain less than $1.00 per day. Shows child labour and difficult life situations.

Significances:

1) You see children aged less than 10 years old working in toxic water, in mines for 12 hours per day instead of going to school and having an education. 1 in 7 children worldwide are forced into child labour so it means that it’s everywhere. It is all around the world that children’s lives are ruined and are not how they should be. If child labour increases then the globe will be seen going through a downfall in economy as well as happy lifestyle.
2) In Africa probably a lot of people suffer famines, as said in the video that 3 children working for 12 hours, 6 days a week don’t make up for 1 meal with their money put together.

Analysis:

1) We can discuss and analyze how these children are actually treated. It could be biased as it says ‘they get payed no money but are given a handful of food during their work processes because they do get payed, just very little.
2) I see this video as being quite useful because it clearly shows what these people have to face. It relates to our topic, it is just another country around the globe where child labor is seen.
