Issue: The people in Kenya (Turkana), in Africa many people are affected by severe famine and starvation problems, not being able to find food to eat and having no help whatsoever for the past two months.
Significances:
1) Around the world it is estimated that 1 billion people are going hungry. Worldwide people die every day, every minute because of starvation. People like this do not deserve a life like this. There will be a lack of population in countries like Africa, and people hate the way they have to survive as every day of their life is a struggle.
2) Some surrounding countries put in a lot of effort to send money, clothes and food to these countries to keep these people alive.
Analysis:
I chose starvation because as we studied child labour/cheap labour and how these people barely survive, whereas these people in Africa struggle to find food to survive. This source seems reliable and I don’t think it’s biased because Africa has been well known for its starvation issues for many years. This video seems very useful, giving opinions of different people in that country. Maybe the fact that they haven’t received any food for 2 months is a little biased because they would all be dead if that was true.
Quote: “I don’t know why god is still keeping me alive, I’m suffering due to hunger.”
